Pharyngitis.

So Monday night during my Art Appreciation class from 6:00 to usually 9:00, my throat started feeling a little scratchy, but I didn't think anything of it.

Tuesday morning I woke up and my throat was killing me. I took some DayQuil, gargled, sprayed some chloraseptic, made some tea with honey, and left for work. Almost my entire shift at work my throat was feeling way better, almost like it completely went away. When 2:30 rolled around (30 minutes left until the end of my shift), my throat started hurting me again. I finished what I needed to finish for my shift, and then left 15 minutes early.
I stopped off at CVS to buy more DayQuil and went home where I tried to take it easy but then had to leave to go back to work because I left my sketchbook, then went to my night class for American Literature. All throughout the class I wanted it to go by faster so I could go home because my throat was starting to throb. And for some reason throughout the entire class I was freezing, and I'm pretty sure I was the only one. I finally get out at around 9:15, and went home where I took NightQuil, put on flannel pants and a long sweatershirt (I was still freezing) and then went to bed.

I kept waking up in the middle of the night because my throat was hurting so bad; swallowing was so painful. So at around 5AM I woke up and decided to go the bathroom to spray some Chloraseptic on my throat. As I was putting the chloraseptic away, I started getting really dizzy and broke out into a cold sweat. I had to lean against the wall to avoid from falling. I don't even know how long I was in that position, but I'm assuming not long after I fell to the floor and remained there for a while. I don't remember how I got to the floor, but as soon as I regained consciousness, I somehow walked to my parent's bedroom on the other side of the house and sat down in their chair and my back was in extreme pain. I woke up them and told them what happened and sat in the chair for about 20 minutes until they got up and told me to lay in the bed for a while. I fell asleep and woke up at around 8am and told my mom I needed to change into different clothes because I was sweating, so she walked me by to my room where I was going to change my clothes. As I was standing in my room waiting to change my clothes, I started getting really dizzy again and felt like vomiting. As my mom was walking me towards the bathroom I blacked out again and so she brought me back to my bed.

I went to the doctor's at around 9:30 and they ran some tests and told me they would call today if I had strep. He then told me that I should go to the ER because I fainted twice. So I spent about four hours in the ER while they ran tests. They ran me on an iv and pricked me like, 3 times to get a vein and gave me some antibiotic that had steroids in it to reduce the inflammation of my throat and then gave me liquids to rehydrate me. After about four hours, missing my afternoon class (in which I had a test due and had to pick up another test), they diagnosed me with Pharyngitis, which is just a fancy word for a bacterial sore throat.

They prescribed me a pill for my throat and cough syrup (which I refuse to taste because A. When I was a child, cough syrup never went very well with me and B. I don't have a cough). So I went to bed feeling a lot better than I did earlier, but my throat still hurt.

I woke up a few times in the middle of the night last night, not neccessarily because my throat hurt but maybe just because of all the sleep I've been having. I woke up this morning at around 7:45AM and my throat feels almost 50% better.

So the moral to this story is....if a boy says that his throat is a little scratchy...don't kiss him anyway, you'll end up with Pharyngitis.

But good news, my laptop should be here by next week!
